We offer year-around dry and humid firewood mostly in south Estonia, but in agreement to all over the country.
Firewood moisture must be under 20%. Wet firewood causes tar and ineffective burning process. One full firebox of wet wood may include 8-10 litre water in it. During a burning process a lot of water is vaporised and the temperature remains low. When the water vapour condenses in the flues it causes tar. Tar burns at 1200 C which is also the temperature when clay bricks start to melt. As tar expands 7 times during burning process, using wet firewood may lead to clogging up the flues.
Using wet firewood causes you to lose 70% of heat.
